We find ourselves here in a world that spins. There are colors, lights, appetites, and aspirations, and it all moves faster than our little legs can carry us! Here’s the conundrum, however: It is all the one life, one ‘continuum’, and it simply must have a core, have a heart. Where is the heart of life? Where is the ‘X’ that marks the spot of life’s hidden treasure, life’s purpose? There is so much more in and through life that we cannot see, than what we can see – love, spirit, heart, hope, distance, time, sense, thought, peace, joy, purpose, contemplation, reflection, kindness, etc., etc. There is so much more in life that we do not understand, than what we do understand. There is so much more in life that has been created, than what we can ever create. So why do we only trust what we ‘see’ with our eyes, understand with our ‘reason’, and make with our own hands? God lifts our eyes to that which is outside every limitation and reach of our reason and our sight and our ability. He comes to us in ‘revelation’. He reveals himself. He simply ‘is’: ‘I am that I am.’ Exodus 3:14 This primal expression of God to Moses, outside of time, above and beyond existence, Jesus later claimed for himself. (John 8:58) Jesus stood himself in the very heart of God, of life, of love, of purpose. All this he expressed in himself – in the form of a man – so that we could ‘relate’. In Christ we can see, touch and know ‘Life’. Know Christ, and know life. Here you have arrived. Do you know him? ‘Jesus said, ‘I am the door. He who enters through me will be saved…’ John 10:9
